Examining the Relationship Between Employee’s Job Satisfaction and Performance: A Case Study of Administrative Employees at Kabul Education University

Abstract
The study aims to examine and elucidate the relationship between job satisfaction and job performance among administrative employees at Kabul Education University. This study employed a descriptive–correlational design. Data were collected using two standardized instruments: The Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (1930), which comprises six dimensions and 19 items, and the Patterson Job Performance Questionnaire (1999), which includes 15 items. The population of this study consisted of 87 administrative employees of the university. Based on Cochran’s formula and employing a simple random sampling method, a sample of 86 participants was selected at a 99% confidence level. The findings indicated that the average level of job satisfaction among employees was above the midpoint. The highest levels of satisfaction were associated with the components of salary, nature of the job, opportunities for advancement, and physical conditions, while satisfaction with the organizational environment was at a moderate level. The lowest satisfaction was related to the leadership style component. Furthermore, the findings revealed that the job performance of the university’s administrative employees was above the average level; however, the relationship between job satisfaction and job performance was positive but not statistically significant.
